Additional Resources

The videos below and links provided using the buttons are a wealth of information related to education, child development, safety and more.  Feel free to send us a note or let us know if there are any additional resources you might find helpful to share with others as we would be happy to include them.

Snacks are a much anticipated part of the day as it is a time for children to enjoy socializing while eating nutritious foods.  It is also a wonderful opportunity to reinforce skills they are working on in their classrooms (such as pouring, spooning, independence, social grace & courtesy).  We strive to provide a variety of foods, textures, aromas, and flavors for of the children in our multi-cultural classrooms and community.  Whenever possible, snacks are organic, minimally processed, and low in sugar and sodium.  Additionally, school snacks are vegetarian and naturally gluten-free in order to ensure as many children as possible (both with and without food restrictions) are able to enjoy a nutritious meal with their friends.

Similar to snack, lunch time provides children with a hands-on opportunity to reinforce skills used in the classroom as well as try a variety of new flavors, and textures.  In a familiar and family-like environment, it is a much anticipated part of the day.  Lunch menus are always available in the office. You can also click on the button to the right to download a sample menu.  Children in our Pre-Primary, Toddler, and Infant programs (that are eating table foods) are required to have school lunch unless directed by a child's physician per IL-DCFS.  Children in our Primary and Elementary programs may bring a lunch from home if desired or have school lunch.  Lunch is billed at a daily rate of $3.75.

School Schedule

All Year | Enrollment/Re-Enrollment

Villa Montessori School operates on an open-enrollment policy, where families are welcome to join our school in any age group at any time.  This is due to the application of the Montessori approach in the classrooms as academic content is based on the individual needs of the child, rather than an arbitrary teacher-based schedule.  For more information, please feel free to contact us.

Hours of Operation | School Closure Dates

Villa Montessori School’s hours of operation are 7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday through Friday, year-round.

In an effort to best serve the families we are privileged to work with and the children in our care, our school will be open year-round and will not close for things such as parent-teacher conferences, staff development days, spring/summer/fall breaks, etc.  Any other closings due to potential weather threats or other unforeseen circumstances will be announced through the media outlets, and any other means (i.e. Facebook, VMS Website, etc.) if time allows.  Please feel free to contact the VMS office with any questions regarding school closures.  That being said, our school will be closed the days outlined in our "School Closure Dates" on this page to allow children and staff time to spend with their families.  Families are not currently billed tuition for any dates included on the "School Closure Dates" list in the link provided.
